I got your back.

These two are really becoming buddies, and despite their size difference Bogey has been really gentle with Bentley. Aren't they cute together?

I may or may not be as patient as I once thought..

We are having a BLAST this week at our church's very first VBS. I am helping in Gianna's class with a very dear friend, a friend who I might add, has the patience of Job. Seriously, she is uber calm and collected ALL. THE. TIME.  Which is one of the many, many reasons that I love her. And I am SO HAPPY to surround myself with folks who have "it" together. Because we aaaaalllllll know  that I do not.  ( no comments boys!) So anyhoo, in Sunday School(the day before VBS) this little girl comes up to me as I am dropping Gianna off, and says, ever-so-sweetly, " I'm sorry for hitting your daughter in the back ." Ummm....  WHATDIDYOUJUSTSAYBECAUSEMYBEARCLAWSHAVEJUSTCOMEOUT??? And, as fate would have it, Miss Ever-so-sweetly is attending VBS as well.  Yay Me!! (Disclaimer:Her family is visiting our church, so I really don't know them, and honestly, she is four, so I understand that four year olds are impulsive.I really do. Just please NOT against Gianna, wh...

Party on the Patio

We were able to enjoy all the fruits of our labors (finally) and had some friends over for a barbeque. Here are all the kiddos waiting for the fireworks to start! The fireworks were... ummm a disaster. We accidentally did the grand finale FIRST and we had a few deviant ones that sent folks running. Oh well, we tried. Gianna HATED the sound of the fireworks, but tried to be as brave as she could... Sweet, sweet Joel saw her cover her ears and put his arm protectively around her.  Gosh I love that boy! The sparklers were a bit more fun- Look at beautiful Savannah. No surprise here, but Gianna HATED the sparklers too. Juliet was waiting patiently with her mommy and finally got her sparkler. Andrew and Avery and their Daddy. Ahh, and then there is Joel. Sweet, sweet Joel. Who may grow up and hate that I keep calling him sweet. Did I mention he put his arm around Gianna when she covered her ears? Sigh. So stinkin' SWEET! Aria  really enjoyed her sparkler for the first time, so maybe the...

What has occupied ALL of our time this summer

Image
First we took THIS pile of wood.... And this hideous back yard...... And decided that we would build the girls one of these.... But then the backyard looked like THIS, which wasn't much better, SOOOO...... We decided to do this. But to keep it from washing down hill in a rainstorm, we had to add this: And then what is a playground if there is no place for the parents?  So we decided to add this: So the finished product looks like this: However, it is waayyy too hot out here, so to actually use the patio, we had to buy THIS: And if it ever gets cold here in Georgia, we will need THIS: THe view from the top looks like this: And, when the boys want to play horseshoes, or bocce ball,  we decided to a "big boy area" like this: And THIS is the future pool area, but rest assured, we ARE NOT digging that ourselves! We are done! (for now) (This blog post was written under a covered patio, while sipping an iced coffee and listening to the giggles of little girls on the adjacent sw...

The girls were giddy with excitement all. day. long. Unfortunately for me, his flight didn't come in until after 9 PM, which made for a long day of  hearing, "Are we leaving for the airport yet?" The obviously didn't run out of excitement! Gianna was beside herself! "Uh, Mommy, we are getting tired of waiting. Where is he??" A race for the first hug. Gianna was the lucky winner! Sharing sweet stories with his sister Justin made this awesome Welcome Home sign- Isn't it awesome? We are so thankful you are home safe and sound Ryan!!
