We've spiced up our holidays.
So to spice things up, Greg broke his foot in 4, yes FOUR places. Complete with a tendon tear, and a skin infection Yessiree!
On Thanksgiving Day.
With a houseful of guests.
I won't divulge the exact cause of the injury, suffice it to say, the boys are getting a copy of the manual "Wrestling Safely with the Elderly" in their stocking this year.
That's all I'm sayin...
SOOOO, anyhooo, the girls are lovin it because they get to take turns riding with Daddy in those scooter things at the stores. THAT ARE MEANT FOR THE ELDERLY! Ahem....(notice the trend here?)
Christmas shopping has taken on a whole new meaning at 2 mph. I mean, Gianna can toddle faster than her Daddy can chase her driving one of those things.
AND,
if that is not enough excitement for this family during the always busy holiday season- Greg and I had our very first date night since Gianna came home. Oh it was very romantic, in a germy sorta way!
We spent overnight in the hospital.
Not for Greg's foot. Oh no!
For my gallbladder who was feeling the joys of the season! Yup- first night out of the house in 7 months alone, and we were in a hospital room filled with waves of nausea and pain. Fun Stuff!
So, add a little travel for Daddy ( who is still on crutches), and a few extended family medical emergencies and/or major surgeries, and you have one spicy Christmas season!
Hope all of your festivities are calm and uneventful!
Oh my goodness! Cristy! What a time y'all have had! Bless all of your hearts. Glad you can continue to find humor in it all. The girls obviously are still smiling in spite of it all!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Glad you still have your sense of humor!!!
ReplyDeleteA screenwriter (when not on strike) could not think up all this stuff to happen to one of their movie characters. I agree with Mark, Rebeca and Sophia that it is good to keep your sense of humor in this situation.

Wrestling Safely with the Elderly!! Funny stuff. Great way to start off my morning. You guys best lay-low until we get through December....ya think??
ReplyDeleteWe're here though if you should ever need us....don't forget that!
Love ya~
Never a dull moment!
ReplyDeleteO.K...you win....I give you the award...I thought we had a winner with a cousin falling through our ceiling on Thanksgiving, a dead thing in our daughters wall which sent out a wonderful potent aroma and Scott flooding our bathroom and the boys room underneath (but the Cowboys won...long story). We have not had any medical emergancies this month (so far). So I will concede to you and give you the Most Memerable Holiday Award. I'll be praying for you all! Love....Denise M
