Bump.
Well, we hit a bump in the ole' adoption road.
My agency called this morning and I excitedly exclaim, "YOU HAVE MY TRAVEL APPROVAL?!?"
Subtle, I am not.
She says, that no, they don't because there is a problem.
A WHAT?????
Apparently our Letter of Intent (you know, the letter REQUESTING APPROVAL to adopt the twins) is not at the Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs, and they say they have never had it.
Hmmmmm.....
How did you know to give us pre-approval and our official Letter of Acceptance if you didn't first get our request asking for the twins?!?!?
Lord knows it wasn't lost.
Nope.
It was never given.
That's their story and they are stickin' with it.
Oh, and a scanned copy will not do. We must provide original signatures for a document they received last March.
Except they didn't.
They magically knew that we wanted the twins and therefore approved us without ever seeing our request.
Yeah, they're THAT good.
Anyhoo, we are overnighting it to our agency who will overnight it to China, who may or may not ever get it depending on the process of osmosis, and which holiday they decide to close for next, blah, blah, blah.....
That means no travel approval this week. Hopefully next week and hopefully we still leave on November 5th.
And I am relatively calm believe it or not, which must be a God thing.
We all know that I am not the calmest person when it comes to my babies.

I am so sorry. As I said, we will be praying. I don't know what has happened to the last 3 comments but they haven't been posted. Maybe they went the same way as the approval request. Who knows? Anyway it is in His hands.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to us yesterday, only it was our Nurture Plan. Really? We're sending it today so hopefully we'll hear something soon, too. We still don't know if we'll be expedited, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!
Cristy,
ReplyDeletePraying for your TA. We haven't gotten ours either. I am READY TO GO! I know you are too. Praying all things get worked out.
Love,
Lyn Thomas
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThis happened to a couple in our travel group. The problem was easily solved. The missing LOI was emailed to China and they received TA quickly.
