Newlyweds, Teeth, Wishes and Hospitals, Oh My.
The Newlyweds came through town on their way to a wedding in TN. It was awesome to see them!
Wait!
Did I just say WEDDING?
Yes, yes I did.
That calls for MORE WEDDING PHOTOS for your viewing pleasure.
You're welcome.
I mean to tell you. Three of my SIX beautiful girls. If you had told me a few years ago that God would give me SIX girls, I would have never believed it.
Blessed.
Justin told me the highlight of the wedding was that his Grandpa married them.
It was so special!
Okay where was I?
Ahhh, yes...
Newlyweds, then teeth.
Gianna lost her first tooth last week.
At our house the "Tooth Daddy" comes and leaves you a cash prize.
Except sometimes he oversleeps and forgets.
Parent fail.
And then a crying child comes running in your room saying,
"Daddy forgot to leave me money!!"
And then Mommy sweeps her into bed and soothes her, strongly suggesting that maybe she didn't see it and it's there.
I mean, how could Daddy forget her FIRST TOOTH??
Of course not.
Did you see a breathless man running past with wallet in hand?
Nope me either.
When the coast was clear, she calmed down, we went in her room for a more thorough search.
And LO AND BEHOLD, we found it.
Phew.
We have our very own Pumpkin for the fall!!
Gianna collected all her tooth money, put it in a bag, and
wrote: "Money for the Lord"
That's right, she wants to give it all to the Lord to help others.
She has such a sweet generous heart.
I. love. that.
We heard back from Make a Wish and although Celia was approved for a pool, it was an above-ground pool that our home owner's association would never approve that.
We decided, with the suggestions of the team, to do a completely interactive
playground in our back yard.
When the girls go down to play, Celia and I sit and watch them and blow bubbles.
There really isn't anything for her to do, nor can we get her wheelchair down there.
No more!
She will have all sorts of fun things that she can do soon!
Can't wait!!
Celia was admitted with what was supposed to be 24 hours for an all day EEG and sleep study.
Except they decided to keep her for 3 days.
She had obvious thoughts on that decision.
HA!
Oh the DRAMA of it all!
"People touched my head and I DON'T LIKE IT!!"
Sportin' the lovely turban of wires.
For 3 days.
Since she was video monitored, she went from the crib to her stroller, and then back again when we were feeling a little wild and crazy..
And that's it.
For THREE DAYS.
Fun times.
Thank you to Papa for coming for daily coffee breaks, and to Aunt Ang who bought me new Dora PJ's and a box of diapers (that don't leak! Mommy bought cheap ones that leak) and to Miss Amy who came to visit me while she was working and made sure we had an awesome nurse.
And Yo, who stayed for another wedding and helped with the other 3 so we could do the Mom/Dad hospital swap without dragging three girls in the car each time.
Rockin' the GOING HOME hair.
(It's full of sticky glue)
Why am I so exhausted?
I have no idea.
Oh I have no idea why you'd be tired ;) Love to all.
ReplyDeleteYOu are tired because you have such a wonderful husband and children that over fill you with love.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a post, so full of so much good news. The greatest joy of the wedding was that of grandpa for the honor of "tying the knot" for two very special people. What a blessing (and with such a personal interest I tied it real tight!) Grandma and I are so happy for you and look forward to what The Lord is going to do with and through your marriage.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I read a blog report,my heart feel as though it is about to burst! Gianna's "money for the Lord" bag reminds me of her money for the "goats" in Africa. She has such a giving heart. She may have a future in ministry fund raising. Only He knows. We now have a large group of people in Spartanburg, SC who are praying for Gianna and Celia. In fact the prayers for Celia are for a Miracle! That works for me! We are excited about the interactive playground. Not sure just what that means....but are looking forward to learning. God is SO good!!!
ReplyDeleteHello, I stumbled across your blog by accident today and was curious if I could talk with you privately. I have a friend who whose daughter has very similar symptoms as your daughter and I wanted to ask you some questions. She was originally tested for Mito and we all thought that fit but they ended up finding something else and I wanted to ask if your daughter had been tested for that. My email is beckyhooker@yahoo.com Hooker is my married last name, I promise you this is not some virus or something to lead you somewhere unpleasant! I really hope to hear from you!
