Gifts from Lucy

Lucy's parents have been extremely generous in giving Celia most of her therapy equipment.
Seating is a HUGE (and expensive) issue for special needs children.
Celia needs different therapy options to work different muscle groups.
There is no way we could have purchased all these things for our girl.
And even less likely that insurance would have covered any of it.

Here is just some of the gifts from Lucy:

A corner chair and tray. This chair is AWESOME. It really provides no therapy for Celia but it gives her full support and most importantly it puts her right on the ground with her sisters in an UPRIGHT position. No more laying on her back on the floor to play.

It has this nifty tray with a homemade wooden base that you can attach toys to.
Someone lovingly made Lucy that wooden base, and now Celia has the joy of her toys attached to it.
Blessed.

And then there is this Stander. We had a stander denied by insurance so this is a real gift. A stander is extremely important for our girl. She needs to keep her leg strength up to avoid hip-dislocation and/or fractures. Her anti-seizure meds cause bone loss so keeping her legs strong and weight-bearing is crucial. We would have never been able to get this for her due to the cost.
Grateful.

And what kid wouldn't want a swing in their dining room?!?
This indoor/outdoor swing was NEW IN THE BOX.
As you can see, she has years of growing room.
It is a great sensory thing, and since it's between the kitchen and dining room,
she can swing while I cook.
I can't even stress what a gift this is.
We wouldn't have even put a swing on our "wish list" due to all the other
things with much higher priority.
Overwhelmed.

There are actually not one but TWO of these chairs.
It helps Celia to have head and trunk control.
And the nifty BRAND NEW activity center encourages her to use her hands.
I had honestly given up with her using her hands because her toes work better.
Look what's in her hand!
A toy she grabbed.
And we have a chair for each floor!!
Encouraged.

This is Celia's "work" gait trainer.
Lucy's mom gave her the tray attachment.
This can hold her iPad or a toy.
It gives Celia that extra motivation needed to keep working.
Unexpected.

The Lucy chair train.
Awesomeness.

We were also given a bath seat that makes her IN THE TUB and UPRIGHT.
A big improvement from her out-of-the-water lounge chair.
And, a inflatable travel bathtub for special needs kids.
Diapers.
G-tube formula.
and get this....
portable wheelchair ramps for the front porch or garage.
Right now, we can still carry her to and from the car.
But very soon, we will no longer be able to.
Those ramps will be such a blessing!

Last year, we had a huge crib issue and just one chair for Celia.
Thanks to a friend we got a second chair on wheels for upstairs.
Then her bed was custom-made.
And now.....
ALL of these gifts.
Humbled.

What a honor to have a little bit of Lucy in our home.
