Ready....Get set.......Don't move!!!
I have this terrible, annoying quirk that when I am totally overwhelmed, I become very unproductive and focus on silly little things that don't help me in any way whatsoever.
So it makes perfect sense to me to update my blog, peruse face-book and paint my girls toes instead of focusing on the tasks at hand, which includes:
Copious amounts of washing/drying/folding of laundry.
Unpacking fall clothes and re-packing summer clothes to take to FL. Did I mention we leave in 36 hours???
Canceling telephone/cable/and various other services, which will only take 12 hrs on the phone on hold.
Packing my house.
Deciding what to take/what to toss/what to donate/what to leave.
More Packing.
Ordering boxes and packing supplies.
A shower.... that is much needed at this point.
Maybe a making a meal to feed the fam? Nah, who am I kidding, I will be calling to order more take out.
I DID start the dishwasher this morning- that counts as progress, right??? Just looking around the room is causing my blood pressure to rise.
Oh, LOOK... pictures!!
Gianna missed one meal before her surgery and was determined to make it up by eating a whole can of Cheddar Pringles. (and, we let her.)
This takes "cheesy smile" to a whole new level.
Oh, and breaking news....I had my hair chemically straightened. Besides serving Jesus, marrying my husband and having his four babies, this was the best decision I have ever made. Seriously.
Why did I ever spend hours trying to do it myself??
This is Aunt Gwen. She turns 102 on Saturday. She told me she needs to keep exercising and watching what she eats, so she served US her birthday cake, but politely refrained.
I *may or may not need* to take her advice on my birthday:
"No guys, I'm serious.... I will just run on the treadmill and watch you eat my very favorite, only eat it once a year, made from scratch German chocolate cake. Really."
Okay, so maybe not. Guess I won't look this good. Or live to 102. Sigh.
Oh, and we bought not one, but TWO new cars yesterday. And spent all day at the dealership, which fed my denial of all things packing.
We didn't think it seemed fair that the boys just got to live in a seven bedroom house all alone, so we decided to throw a car in for fun.
We're good like that.
Your hair looks fantastic....
ReplyDeleteYour Aunt Gwen looks amazing....can't believe she's turning 102. I hope I look that good at 102!!!
As for all the packing and responsible stuff...God's grace is sufficient. We'll both find this to be so very true in the days ahead.
Whew!! You wore me out just reading all that! The best to you and your family and your new adventures. Looking forward to reading all about it. Mary's Mom
ReplyDeleteWish we were there to help, but we will be there to help in Georgia when your new company opens an office there and sends you back home. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great!
Give the girls and the boys a big Grandma and Grandpa for us and remind them we love them.
So the boys will live in the house or are you going to try to sell? Oh I miss you and wish I was closer!
ReplyDeleteAnnie,
ReplyDeleteWe are going to keep the house for a year or two. Crazy, I know, but the rental market here is soft, and we wouldn't make anything on our house to sell IF it sold at all. We "hope" to move back to Atlanta, so I hate to lose the house if we don't need to. They boys are strapped financially, so they can take care of the place (who I am kidding!?) and we can come home and have a place to stay when we do.
I miss you XOXO
