A stay of execution.

Remember the story, "The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf"? Let me introduce you to the sequel:

"The Girl Who Cried Tampa."

"Once was a family who was told they had to unexpectedly move to Tampa just 10 days after their daughter had surgery. The family was NOT happy about the situation, but tried to see it as a new adventure that was orchestrated by God.

They went to Tampa to begin the house hunt, only to become discouraged at the lack of affordable rental homes in nice areas.

On the second day of her husband's new job, and alone in a hotel room with no transportation, the 'Girl who cried Tampa' stopped perusing the Internet for homes long enough to realize that her child was running a temperature of 101.

She rushed to the phone to call Shriners, fearful of a post-op infection and was told to head to the ER immediately. Without a car, alone with 2 little girls and a puppy, she did the only reasonable thing....
.......She cried.

After collecting herself, she had the presence of mind to call the Tampa Children's hospital to ask to be put in a separate area of the waiting room so that her family did not bring home a souvenir in the form of a piggy flu. She was treated rudely and told that in 'NO uncertain circumstances' would they be protected to avoid further complications that the piggy flu could cause a child that may have a post-op infection.

A very rash decision and 30 minutes later, she was dropping her newly employed husband off from his "lunch" break, and made the 7 hour journey back to Atlanta.
Alone.
With two little girls.
One of which was now running 102 fever.*
And a puppy who whined a lot.

Because of the plight of 'The girl who cried Tampa', her sweet husband gathered the courage to petition his COO to stay located in Atlanta.
On his second day on the job.
For the sake of his poor wife's sanity.
And his daughter's health and well-being.
(But especially for his wife's sanity.)

In a twist of Divine intervention, the COO permitted the "stay of execution".
For now.

But it may or may not change back to the original plan in December.

And so for now, 'The girl who cried Tampa' is happily unpacking boxes and re-decorating her house for fall and pretending that the month of December is 5 years away.

And trusting God.
And praying they don't have to move.
And trying to submit to HIS will over her own."

The End.

*(Thankfully,Gianna DID NOT have a post-op infection. She had a weird virus that's only symptom was a high fever.)

  1. Hello Claxton Family,
Seems like the end result of "the girl who cried Tampa" worked out well.

I can't even imagine moving...ever....but certainly not post op. You are a very strong woman.

Thank you for the prayers. Madigan also adds Gianna to her prayers. We stop here almost daily for Madigan to admire the fairy pictures and we talk about her new friends.

Did they swab Gianna's nose for the flu? Madigan only had a high fever as her "symptom" and it came back positive. How is she feeling today? How is Aria? Their both such delights!

Bet it feels so good to be home!! We will pray that you are able to stay in Atlanta FOR GOOD!!

    God Bless you
    Valerie + Madigan

  3. So glad to hear that you are back home at least for now. It also makes it much easier to get the annual pound cake to your darling family.

  4. Needless to say, Grandma and Grandpa are excited to hear the good news. We wouldn't say it was an answer to prayer, but we would say we are happy with the way God worked it all out. Welcome back home! Yippee!!
(Now that we see you are praying for this to be a permanent arrangement we are praying alongside of you.)
    We love you!
