Confessions of a Nester.
The first step is ADMITTING you have a problem- right?
Sigh....I have a problem.
I am cleaning and I can't stop.
I have my husband joining in, so we are getting twice the amount done.
At this rate,I will run out of things to clean in 36 hours.
That will leave at least 60 days before travel with nothing left to clean.
The regular ol' dusting and vacuuming will not cut it.
I need to CLEAN.
SCRUB.
DISINFECT.
PURGE.
ORGANIZE.
We have, in the last 48 hours:
De-weeded a VERY weedy backyard. Took hours. We should have been exhausted and stopped. BUT NO...
We then cleaned out the garage. ( I used "we" loosely on this one)
Cleaned and purged a messy master closet- a very long overdue project.
Went to Costco for a mattress for Sofia.
Came home to put the mattress on the bed, but the "stuff" for travel was blocking the way, so we thought, "Heck, let's just go ahead and completely pack for the trip that's in 2 months."
People, I am Packed.
As in, we zipped the suitcases, locks on, and put them in the closet.
Done.
For a trip that is two months away.
Insanity, right?
Right.
Oh, but we still had fight left in us, so we re-organized the playroom and disinfected all the toys. Then we cleaned out all the out-dated meds in our bathroom cabinets.
Then we hit the kitchen.
I won't tell you how old some of the spices I had were.
I WILL tell you that we had not one, but TWO full trash bags FOR JUST THE SPICE CABINET!!!
That did us in, and we took a reprieve.... for a few hours to sleep.
I am now BACK AT IT.
I can't stop, even if i wanted to... I AM COMPELLED TO CLEAN!
I have this little inner drive saying,"Twins coming.... Must clean... You will never have time, ever, ever again. Do it now."
Then last night, my son put on a show of hoarders and the family that loves them.
It only re-enforced the need to PURGE. NOW.
I'm just certain you can never purge anything ever with twins. Ha!
Someone, ANY ONE please help us.

I hereby PROMISE to come clean, purge or anything else that needs to be done once the twins are here.
ReplyDeleteIf you still have a NEED, I will play with "all" the girls while you re-do what I have done.
You will have a life after the twins get here. It just seems overwhelming right now!
Love,
Gran'ma
I'm right there with ya!!!!! Our house is cleaner than it's been in years!
ReplyDeleteOh, the hoarders show will make anybody want to clean and purge and clean and purge and clean and... Sheridan watches it and just says, "I couldn't imagine..." Me neither, son, me neither.
ReplyDeletePLEASE.COME.OVER.HERE.AND.PURGE.
ReplyDeleteHere's your cure.
ReplyDeleteGet on 85. Head North. Get off at the Woodruff road exit. Turn left. Turn right onto Miller. Turn right onto Burning Bush, then left onto pigeon pt.
Then, come help me unpack boxes. and boxes. and good gravy, more boxes.
See, that will help. And bring the girls. I'll play while you unpack :)
Cristy, I'm in awe and acute jealousy over everything you got done! Yowza!! And, I'm not packed AT ALL. Haven't started a thing. Got a packing list I could peek at??
ReplyDeleteDonna :)
