Updates, Yes, more updates!
I'm sure you have heard more than you ever wanted to know about adoption, twin wearing, USCIS approvals, and surgery... But alas, I have more....
~Gianna's surgery is Thursday at 2:30. That means she cannot EAT all day. That alone may be her un-doing. She LOVES to eat. She smells food a mile and a half away.
~I was not able to talk Greg out of going.
~That means, I am STAYING. Sigh.
~He is EXTREMELY nurturing and comforting. He is the one I want to care for me when I am ill, so she is in better hands anyway.
~I am BLESSED to have many sweet friends who have called and checked on me while we were/are in quarantine. I had a lovely group of ladies come over for a "girls night" last week too. Gems, they are, truly gems!! My friends are the REAL DEAL, and I am so thankful for each one God blessed me with.
~I got my sling in and currently Gianna and the dog are my two victims. Thirty pounds on one hip and four pounds on the other is whacking my back out a bit.
On the adoption front:
(boy will I be glad to be DONE, be HOME and not be adopting, at least for a little while)
~Our I800 was approved today. Our USCIS Officer went on vacation. I know, the NERVE of her- HA!
So, we had a little set-back there, but only by 2 days. It was sent to the Visa Center today, and that fun word "cable" is the next step. Should happen in 7-10 days.
~The US Consulate appointments are completely full for September. SOOOO, people who got travel approval this week, are traveling in October. As in, their Consulate appointments are October 19th.
~Did I mention the Consulate is CLOSED the entire first week of October? And then again on October 11? And again for Veteran's Day or Columbus Day, or whatever comes next? So yeah, not a lot of dates to begin with. (They don't do them every day either) Government workers- sheesh!
~My fear is being realized: People who get their travel approval during the month of September will take all the October, and into November appointments.
~That means, according to my agency, that late November to early December is likely. She used probable, but I prefer likely. It seems so less final.
~The GOOD news in that scenario, drum roll, please..... Greg could probably go in December.
~We may even delay it for a few weeks if we get a mid-Nov appointment, so that he CAN go.
~He doesn't want to miss the "birth" of his twins any more than I want to be in China for 2 weeks without him.
~Our deal with God is, that we will delay travel no more than 2 weeks. If it is going to be longer than that, then I will go alone. Those babies have waited long enough.
And, ummm, well that's about all I got for now..
If you could please pray for our Baby G on Thursday, we would be so grateful.

ReplyDeleteWOW!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a info filled blog. First things first. Gianna is always in our prayers, but at the top of our list tomorrow. I really hope that Greg can go to the "birthing", he is so good at it. I have it on great authority that HE has it all in total control.
Take it easy on "govt. employees", some people who are very near and dear to your heart "are" or "were" some of those. Love and Blessings to all.
Loving all the updates!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your support on RQ. Hoping to make the big announcement after I get that one out of the way ;)
