One. Week.
One week from today, I will awake to a house brimming with friends and family.
I will rush to put 2 little girl's hair into sponge rollers.
I will sip coffee with my sister in law and 2 of my best friends.
My nephew will play with all his girl cousins.
Everyone will get to know the twins.
My sons will come home after an early morning golf game with their dad.
14 people will shower at various intervals.
(Hopefully our hot water heater will handle the load.)
We will all eat lunch in a terribly small kitchen.
And laugh, and reminisce and remember.
We will load our car to the brim with dresses, and tuxs and go-go's and wheelchairs, and makeup and flowers, and party favors and emergency sewing kits.....
.....And a glue gun.
Because, in my mind, there are very few problems a glue gun can't fix.
We will head to the venue in a caravan of cars and begin the last minute preparations.
And all too soon, My husband will escort me down the aisle and we will watch our son marry his bride.
All the while, images of the baby, the boy, the teenager will flash through my mind like a motion picture:
The newborn in my arms, the chunky easy going toddler, the tears I wiped away, the birthday parties, the skinned knees and stitches (hundreds and hundreds of stitches) and basketball games, and sleepovers, and late night chats........
All led us to this ONE DAY. The day we've prayed for since he was a baby.
As both our boys will tell you, we always say, "WHO you spend the rest of your life with is your choice. It can be the BEST decision or the WORST you'll ever make, so choose well."

He did.
He chose very well.
