The roller coaster is starting.....
Wheeeeeee!!!
~This weekend I am hosting a book shower tea for my new daughter in law.
How fun is that? Bring a cookbook or marriage type book to encourage the new bride.
SO FUN!!
~We have a little more than TWO WEEKS until the wedding. We have baskets for flower girls to decorate, we have dresses to make for the twins. I need jewelry, shoes, hair intervention and a day at a salon for nails, pedicure and eyebrows. I CANNOT see my son get married with fuzzy eyebrows ya'll.
~We need to shop for our out of town guests who are staying with us, cuz' nothing says hospitality like feeding people. We need to decide hair for four little girls. We need beds and sheets, pillows and towels for all our guests. I think our house will have a grand total of 14 people in it. I CAN'T WAIT!!! It will be so much fun!!!!
~We are leaving a week after the wedding for the beach!! Justin and Regina will be able to come so we are super-excited about that!
~We start our American Girl Doll/ Art/Ballet/Recorder classes next Tuesday. This is fun for both Mommy and girls as I get to walk a few miles, eat lunch with friends and family and hang out and visit with my peeps from 11-3PM each and every Tuesday. The girls get to take super-fun classes that supplement our homeschool days.
~Celia's IEP meeting is scheduled for August 31st. We will decide (with the experts) how many days a week and what therapies/education they will provide for her starting in September. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Anyone who knows us, knows that we aren't the pre-school type of folks. I like my babies home with me, so this is hard but necessary.
~We get home from the beach and it's the twins birthday week! We are SUPER excited about their special day. I have found a place that is a barn where we can bring 25 kids to pet animals, ride horses and we will have the whole place to ourselves. They even do arts and crafts with the kids. All of these things Celia can do, and will enjoy, so I am pretty darn proud of myself for finding it.
WHOOOOOAAAAAA!!!!
~We are quickly approaching our September appointment with the Geneticist to find out the results of all Celia's tests. Some days I am convinced she does have Mito, and some days I think he's wrong and she has CP. That in itself is a daily roller coaster ride of emotions.
~Shriners called.
Need I say more?
Oh yeah..... Sept 30th.
How does the six months between surgeries go so quickly???
Gianna has been having pain, so we know she is ready,
but still..... Sigh.
The only good news in this is, that we were going up to see family in VA anyway on October 8, so we can just go a week earlier and all of us will be with her for her surgery and then we will spend a week with GrandMommy before heading home.
~ Anticipating 15 hours in the car from here to Philly with 4 little ones may send me to the funny farm.
There are NOT enough crayons/movies/crafts/games to make 15 hours fun. Especially for Celia who can't do anything without help. I twitch just thinking about it.
So yeah, our roller coaster of life is pretty active these days. Lots of highs and a few lows but glad we are riding together as a family.

I didn't know you also homeschooled. I am, too! Do you have a favorite curriculum? I'm having trouble finding one I like since they are all English-based and my daughter doesn't even know the entire alphabet yet. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteWhat time is Aria taking recorder? Sheridan is in the 12:00 class.
ReplyDeleteWe use the ABEKA program which is a phonics based program. I don't love all of it, but teaching to read phonetically has helped my girls.
ReplyDeleteKim- Darn! SHe is in the 2PM class. Hope to see you up there!
So much to do and so little time. First things first, just one step at a time. Grief! I must be getting old, all I can do is rely on old quotes. Ah well, this too will pass
ReplyDeleteI want to see you some Tuesday between 11-3 :)
