Goodbye dear friend.
She sings to them, plays with them when she wakes up in her crib, and clanks them against the rails in protest of naps. She even took them with her to her first surgery. Apparently Mommy can't go back into the OR, but pappies are welcome. Go figure!
Until now.
Last night, her pappies were being washed and I hadn't put them back in the crib. When I put her in, she didn't ask for them, so I decided to seize the moment!
I have NO IDEA what possessed me to do this when daddy was out of town, but I headed to bed myself, expecting a looooonnng sleepless night.
She surprised me-Only 2 wake ups and she went right back to sleep- Wahoo!
So,
My almost 2 year old is now officially pappie free! Which is sorta sad, because it means that my sweet baby is growing up.
Now, if I could only kick my chocolate habit so easily!

Loved this story! I am curious though, did you get your new espresso maker? How is that going? I definitely think we need an update on the new coffee situation at the Claxton household....

Big girl now! It is fun to see the pictures from when she was so little!
ReplyDeleteEsther-Faith decided one day that she didn't want her pacifier either (we called it a zapper). We didn't even set a time frame. We just never gave it back to her. She only asks where it is when she sees other kids with them. I admit. I still have one in the silverware drawer. Not that I would ever give it to her. But it reminds me of a time that she was small enough to need it. Bittersweet.
ReplyDeleteMy parents told me there were children across the world that didnt have pacifiers and I needed to share- took it away Christmas! :) My grandfather went out and bought another at 4am.
ReplyDeleteLoved the story about your daughter!
