Computer Debacle meets the Phone Debacle

So, a few weeks ago, my laptop met it's untimely demise on the kitchen floor. It was a sad day indeed. I never knew how convenient it was to have a laptop, until it was gone.

Poor, unappreciated laptop.

Then if I wanted to use the computer, I had to trek to the deep, dark basement that is FREEZING, on a dinosaur of a computer that was S L O O O W! Its like going back to a corded telephone!

Poor, poor pathetic me.

Well, we went to VA last week, and my BRAND NEW birthday present (a blackberry pearl) had a very bad run in with a bowl of ice cream.( this one wasn't really my fault) Suffice it to say that he got very sick. And wouldn't work.

In a PANIC( traveling with 2 toddlers and no means of communication with the outside world- what did I ever do when I raised the boys??), I went to the local cell store, and Greg told me to buy a "go" phone to get me home.
Unbeknownst to us, go phones are $110 DOLLARS!!! Um, No way!

So not having a phone to call my hubby to ask what to do next, made it a little more challenging, but we finally connected and he told me to go head and re-buy my beloved Pearl.
The store clerk had told me that the sugar would corrode the phone, so even if it finally did turn on, it would die a slow and sticky death.

Fast forward to when I get home, Greg wanted to see how my Pearl was doing, and low and behold, she started right up, remembered all our Dr. appts and seemed as chipper as can be.

So not needing Pearl II, we went to our local cellular store  to return my traveling buddy. BUT, because the store was not an "official" store, they wouldn't accept it.

I am now the proud owner of not one, but TWO expensive phones. I am not sure if I am happy or sad about this. Given my track record on electronics, I may need Pearl II in the not so distant future.

AND, because all good stories need a happy ending~

I came into the house after the airplane trip debacle and my handsome prince told me to close my eyes and come into the kitchen.

Waiting for me there was.....

A BRAND NEW LAPTOP!! But not just any laptop. He bought me a MAC!
And the sweetest part about it all, is that he bought it AFTER he told me to buy Pearl II.

So he KNEW my electronic disease had spread, and he loves me anyway.

Whatta guy!!
