This and That..

In the last few weeks:

-Greg, the girls and I had a very weird virus that I have dubbed our swine flu (it wasn't the ACTUAL swine flu... At least, I think it wasn't.)

-The boys sump pump died after only a year of service, and raw sewage was in the basement. You can only imagine the mess! Actually, I can only imagine the mess, because the men took care of it, and I am thankful!

-We had our very first VBS and it was THE LONGEST I had ever left Aria (except for family or Maggie) and she did great! Her teachers were ABSOLUTELY wonderful, and tried to really engage her. She even let her teacher snuggle her after being hit in the face with a water balloon. Usually at those times, ONLY mommy will do.... She is growing up!

-She has a sweet "friend" in her class named Carson who is pretty much enamored with her, which is cute. Asking his mom questions about her and such.
She is totally clueless- I love that (lets hope she stays that way!!!!)

-Ryan went back to work after coming home from Asia a month ago, and being promised to be back on the schedule right away. In these times, and this economy, he is thankful they finally got him back because he couldn't find a job anywhere else... Selling stuff on e.bay kept him afloat.

-Justin has been busy with work....gym.....home.....friends in that order. He is a very busy guy and seems to survive on very little sleep. Oh, the joys of youth!

-Gianna is a TALKER. She never, ever shuts up, even when she is sleeping! She doesn't care if you are talking to someone else, or if you need to concentrate,or if you are purposely ignoring her- she just asks question after question... She is really cute, and really exhausting !!!!!!

-Speaking of Gianna- her back has been really bothering her, and almost on a daily basis she needs pain meds. After speaking to our Dr at Shriners, we all agree she is ready for an expansion surgery. They are being really wonderful, and encouraged us to go to on our Disney/Beach trip at the end of Sept and we have a surgery date for October.

-This weekend I was suffering from a sinus infection, the air conditioning on the main floor died, the beautiful backyard almost washed away in a torrential downpour because our drainage system failed and we have no idea where it is clogged our how to fix it.
Yay homeownership!

And in the next few weeks: We start Art class, Music class, Ballet, Girl Scouts, Science Club and continue first grade and K-3 which we started a few weeks ago. I love this season in our life!!

And this is our new favorite  evening past time: MahJong with the boys, Ryan brought a really cool set back from Asia and he got us hooked!

And what pairs well with MahJong? A yummy dessert of course!

  1. So, just a normal summer for you, huh?
I *know* why the men cleaned up the basement for you (besides the fact they are very nice)...you never have handled that smell well..
And I want some of that dessert!
