I AM therefore I Blog, OR...

...I blog therefore I am?

Hmmm, it was reported (I think by my son) of my unfortunate demise that resulted in my lack of blogging. I am happy to report the rumors are unfounded, and I am alive and back to blogging.
Here's a little recap:
Aria and her Science Club on a field trip to the GA Aquarium. Next year, SIX of the girls in the class will be fellow FCC'rs.(Families with Children from China) How fun is that???

This is Mrs. Shetler. She is AMAZING. She took a crying, frightened little girl on the first day and met her right where she was, and helped her to blossom into a radiant and confident 6 year old. The Lord GREATLY used Mrs. Shetler in Aria's life this year. She also included Gianna in each and every activity. Always had a place for her at the craft table, and even sent home activities for her to do when she was in quarantine, even though she's not a student. We couldn't be more thankful for this precious woman!

We got the big girls all set up and their room decorated. Getting them adjusted to the sad reality that "Just because you get to sleep in the same room, doesn't mean you can talk all night" was a little tougher.
We instituted "talk time"- the coveted pre-sleep giggle fest that can, and will be removed as a privilege if voices are heard past the talk-time. Worked like a charm!

And of course, we had to do SOMETHING in the twins room. We only have SIX MONTHS or MORE until we actually get them, so it makes perfect sense to set up the crib and get the room ready NOW. Ha! Bless my sweet husband for indulging me!!! Actually, we didn't do much but put the crib in Gianna's room. We will probably be moving after we get the twins so I didn't want to decorate just yet.

These are the STUNNING flowers my oldest son sent me for Mother's Day. I have never seen a bird of paradise flower and the whole family enjoyed watching them open more and more each day.
Then we went on vacation to Florida for a few days with only one son (sniff) and his girlfriend.
We went to Sea World for the second time in 17 years, which was nice, but seriously lacking in the magic of Disney department. Glad we went, but  we won't visit again for another 17 years.

Princesses and Fairies, Oh my!

So yeah- field trips, first grade graduations, room re-decorating, packing, vacationing,  has kept me a little busy.
I'm home now, and back to same ole boring me who stares at the mailbox, stalks the mailman and races to get the mail, hoping, just HOPING our fingerprint letter is in there so we can get our dossier off to China for those baby girls!!

So stay tuned, I'm sure you will be riveted with future blog posts. :):):)

  2. We have "room time" at the HennHouse. We don't have bedtimes for the school-agers. Our philosophy is that they are getting old enough to know when their bodies are tired. So, room time. At a set time, they go to their rooms. If we SEE them (out of their rooms) or HEAR them (through the doors), then they must not be tired and we give them a chance to tire themselves out (typically involving chores). Like you, we've found that it works like a charm. :) We very RARELY see them or hear them.

  3. I loved the picture of 3 of my grandchildren with the stuffed fluffy (thank goodness) Shamu. Knowing Ryan like I do I'm sure the girlfriend has a beautiful name. Unfortunately I don't know what it is. It is always wonderful to see all their shining faces with big smiles. Florida is a great place to visit, even if the sites have aged a bit. Haven't we all. By the way I love the girls rooms, can't wait to see them in person.
    DID YOU SAY MOVE????
