Our birthday girl Sofia!
The lady who visited her sang Happy Birthday in Chinese. How precious! She said she cried unless her nanny was holding her or talking to her. I hope and pray that she easily transitions to Mommy's care.
When they walked in to the baby room Sofia and a little boy were balancing on the TOP OF THE CRIBS! She said that when Sofia saw them, she jumped back in her crib and cowered there, fearful of them. My poor baby girl. Also, if you look to the right of her, there are restraints that they tie the babies in their cribs. Sob... Sniffle..... She said the nannies were very caring, but that there was only 2 of them for all the babies and toddlers. I'm sure with monkeys like Sofia and her crib mate, they have to use these measures to keep them safe at night, but still......
And of course, we have NOTHING for Celia. No updates as of yet, although my agency has requested a detailed list of questions answered and pictures taken. I hope we get it!!
I am just aching to comfort my babies, to start the process of healing their little hearts, of proving to them that we love them and will never, ever leave them. To let the twins know of each other, and rekindle the bond that twins share. To see their sisters carefree and happy, and safe and hopefully relax their two year old minds.
Please pray for the safety of those little monkeys at her orphanage.
Seeing these pictures is so bittersweet. My daughter is scared of strangers, tied to a crib, has only 2 caregivers she shares with many, many other children, and living in a substandard orphanage, even for China's standards.... And yet, seeing her sweet face is balm for my soul.... I have examined every part of her, and already started worrying about each scrape and bruise.
Oh to be able to fast forward in time to the moment they are placed in my arms.....

ReplyDeleteI'm praying :)
ReplyDeleteHate to see those (*&^ restraints! Sheridan was restrained and has just (after three years) started to sleep under some light covers. Also, be prepared for some unpleasantness in the car seat. Sheridan NEVER did get over that and moved into a booster early so that he would have some control over how tight things were. Praying that your sweet girls have none of these issues.
ReplyDeleteHow hard it must be for you to see those pictures, but she is a survivor. God can heal her heart when she is finally placed in your arms. I pray that you hear news soon on Celia.
ReplyDeleteI pray for the peace that passes ALL understanding to fill your soul...and for your precious babies as they wait to come home. Lord, PLEASE hasten the day!
ReplyDeleteI feel it with you, girl. My heart breaks that Dylan isn't here with us. Praying for miracles for us!
