Speculations and Faith.

This week we were "cabled". It was a BIG step down and the end is in sight...well,  kinda sorta.

Our documents will be delivered on Monday, 9/13 to the US Consulate in Guangzhou. It also happens to be the twins 2nd birthday. Don't get me started... sniff.

Our Article 5 (the approval we need) is picked up exactly 2 weeks after the paperwork is dropped off.
It is overnighted to the Chinese Centre for Adoption Affairs.
Our wait for travel approval begins.

My best case scenario for our travel approval is October 11th. The 7 day holiday known as National Day closes everything from Oct 1-7th. Gotta love a holiday that is called a "day" and is actually 7 long days.

If there is a chance of travel the end of October, I will be traveling alone. Our drop dead date for this scenario is that I have to travel and be home by November 5th.

OR, in Door #2:

If we can get a November travel, we will wait and  we ALL go leaving November 26th.

We actually booked frequent flier tickets for this scenario. And our hotel. And our hotel in Hong Kong.
But that's all.

Most of the month of November there are Asian Olympic games.
Think a BIG deal.
A mini version of the real Olympics.
Lots of crowds, hotels triple the price, restaurants overflowing with long waits, and no taxi service available to take us to the grocery store for supplies as we need them, and all in the twins province.
We have FOUR CHILDREN.
We will need supplies.
Although I hate to say it, if we can go during the olympics,we will wait a few weeks longer and all go thankyouverymuch.

So this is where it gets EXCITING. Because as much as we figure and re-figure the possible scenarios, only GOD knows how it will all work out, and who would be best to travel, etc. We get to walk by faith for the next month or so, waiting to see what He has planned.

I just  hate  enjoy waiting.

But even more, I  despise LOVE the unknown.

Greg always says he will put on my tombstone, "She just wanted to know."

To comfort myself, I think of this:

"A mind of a man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. "
Proverbs 16:9

  2. Can you please stop with all the predictions already? We're a day or two behind you and every update has me on pins and needles trying to gauge my OWN travel!

    PS
    Parker's birthday is September 18th and he'll be 3!!
