Here we go again.

Surgery number six.
She just turned 5.
That's six surgeries in 4 years home.
They have saved her life.
But there is no end in sight.
So when I look at her sweet, peaceful face...
As much as I DREAD this for her...
Without these surgeries...
Her smile would not melt my heart day after day.
Her giggles wouldn't echo in our hallways.
Her compassion would not touch each person she knows.
So I am thankful for surgery after surgery.
It gave me the gift of Gianna.
She knows why she is flying to Philly today.
She is not afraid.
She is excited to ride on an airplane.
She's thrilled to have buddy time with Daddy.
She is hoping to see a friend who is "Just LIKE ME" named Madigan.
Madigan is having her surgery the same day.
God is good like that.
She is excited to see her favorite doctor.
She can't wait to see what Mommy has packed for her as a surprise.
She has the uncanny ability to endure tremendous pain and only see the good.
But she knows what's coming....
And while I try to hide my tears, and fears and worries..
She bravely marches on.
This is her life.
She has accepted that.
And she has managed to find JOY in the midst of pain.
I have a HERO.
It is a five year old little girl named Gianna.
She melts my heart.
Would you join with me in prayer for her and Madigan tomorrow?
As always I pray for Ms. G. I love to see her smiling so much. I will add an extra prayer for you too momma. I know the momma worry can be overwhelming, but know that you are my hero in all that you have endured in watching over your joyous crew. Lots of love from Ms. Sarah at Dance.

ReplyDeleteHi Cristy, Someone gave me your blog today. I am so happy to see this. I met your girls in January 2010 when I visited Foshan Shunde as Nutrition and Orphanage Assistance Director for Love Without Boundaries and hoped they would find a wonderful family. I was so glad when I found out that they were getting one. Thank you so much for being such a good family for these sweet girls. I saw Sophia in her little crib that day and I saw Celia. They put her in a walker to show me...I had asked specifically about them. I knew there was a set of twins there. Keep up the good work, I know it must be difficult but rewarding.
