Apparently we need more excitement in our lives.

Celia has her sleep study tonight.

So, it wasn't really out of the way to have an ER visit for her as well.

Yeah.

As Greg was rushing around getting her ready, and I was rushing around getting ready for my Bible study, I heard Greg Y-E-L-L-I-N-G for me to get upstairs.

My man doesn't yell.

I knew it was bad.

I rushed upstairs and he had his thumb lodged in Celia's mouth as she was clamping down on her poor sweet Daddy with EVERYTHING IN HER.

He was screaming for me to check her mouth for shards of glass, while writhing in pain from the death grip Celia had on his thumb.

She bit down on an eye dropper provided by the CoQ10 company for measuring, and we STILL can't tell if it was glass or hard plastic.

Either way, I scraped my hand through her mouth, found a shard, as she tried valiantly to lock down on my fingers as well.

She is a multi-tasking biter.
Who knew?

Her sweet, sweet Daddy KEPT HIS THUMB in her clamp down, while I grabbed another dropper and washed her mouth out.
Over.
And over.
And over..

Blood came out, and we didn't know where it was coming from, so he grabbed her, the overnight stuff, and rushed to CHOA's ER.

You know....because he was headed there anyway.

No, I am not making this up.

He took the shard I found in her mouth and the eye dropper.

Did I mention they STILL don't know if it was plastic or glass?!?

They were wonderful at CHOA, not overly concerned, took fully body xrays (you can't see glass on xray, but they could see bleeding) and sent her off to the sleep lab.

Figuring she is there at the hospital and being monitored is more than reassuring at this point.

My sweet little Biting Cherub all hooked up and ready to sleep.
(I hope)

  1. "Biting Cherub", you are so funny! How is Greg's thumb? I was thinking you were going to say the bleeding was coming from him! So I guess her mouth/throat etc. is okay then? Poor little thing... Guess she wanted to show she still has it in her to chew. "Give me some food, dag-nab-it!"

  5. Never a dull moment at this household! We thank The Lord that there were not more serious consequences. And, we also thank Him that you didn't get a call yet. (At this pace, maybe it's the parents who need a sleep study!) We love you.
