What a week :(
My poor Celia.
My poor,poor, sweet Celia.
This sweet, cheery little thing started to get crabby. Thinking she was TWO and two year olds like to be crabby for no reason, I didn't worry.
Then she upped her game to crying.
NON-STOP CRYING.
As in, nothing consoled her, and she was a mess.
"Hello??? Mom, do you get the message already?!?"
I rushed her to the Dr. but our Ped was not in, so we saw a "new guy"
He looked at me like I was crazy.
Fever? Nope
Eating, peeing, pooping? Yep.
SO why are you here?
Well, I have a little sweet cherub who is crying and my mommy gut says there is something really wrong.
SO FIND IT.
God bless him, he did humor me and do blood work.
(which came back slightly elevated for white blood cells, but otherwise normal.)
And sent me packing with the instruction to give her motrin.
Thanks Buddy. Thanks a lot.
Daddy came home from a trip determined to perk up his princess. When it wasn't gonna happen, he realized something was wrong. Really, really wrong. She will ALWAYS do the Daddy dance when he comes home.
So this morning bright and early I was back at the Dr's office, and THANKFULLY, my Ped was there.
He said, "We are going to get to the bottom of this, and I'm not letting you leave until we figure this out."
Did I mention I love the man? Seriously.
He didn't have to look far, as he was checking her ear, he saw what he thought was ear wax he need to remove. When he touched it she screamed like I have NEVER heard before.
It was awful to see her in that much pain.
It was an ulcer type thingy in her ear. He said that these are SO PAINFUL that he was going to give her antibiotic shots in the office, and prescribed narcotics for the pain.
My poor, baby girl. She was telling me in the only way she could, and it took DAYS for us to find out what was wrong.
We will be back in the office bright and early tomorrow for a re-check and if he doesn't feel she is making vast improvements, he is sending us immediately to an ENT for his take on it.
The good news is, that this afternoon after narcotics were administered, our sweet, happy girl reappeared.
Thank You Lord.
It's times like this that makes it super hard not to be so sad/frustrated/upset for her that she couldn't have said ON MONDAY, "My ear hurts." like every other 2.5 yr old.
No scratching, no pulling, no fever, no nothing.
Just a fussy girl who was trying her best to let me know she needed help.
She may be the death of me yet.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I understand! If Eve could only tell us what bothers her. It's the little things that make you ache for your sweet girl.
