"There's no place like home.."
We woke up early Wednesday morning and Greg had the brilliant idea to call the supplier directly to see which place he could deliver a tire. I love it that he is so smart :)
He told us where he could get it by 11AM and we called them, realizing that it was one of the locations we had tried the day before.
Apparently, in Po-Dunk, it is customary to LIE if you don't want to do something. Actually that is true everywhere and is really very sad.
When Greg told the tire shop owner that he was trying to have a tire delivered there, he nonchalantly replied," Oh yeah, you're the guy who called last night. I have those in stock already."
Okie Dokie then. Thanks for lyin' last night and sayin' you didn't cuz you didn't want to stay and put it on!
We decided to buy two tires, just in case we had the same problem 50 miles down the road- our motto: Have spare, will travel.
We were on the road by 10 AM- Yippee!
We got to talking on the ride about the Sovereign God we serve, and how He could have been protecting us by allowing the circumstances to be what they were for a reason.
At first it was stressful to be stranded, especially since Greg missed a HUGE (think multi-million dollar) meeting, but when you realize that:
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord" Ps 37:23
You can rest, relax and yes, even ENJOY your time in Po-Dunk.
So we did!
YEAH!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, can I just say, what a GREAT attitude you have!
