Groundhog Day
I think the dog days of summer are a little early this year.
It's hot, the air quality is poor, which means Gianna can't be outside-which means no pool, no playground, no parks no walks,and....
"I'm bored."
Not the kids- ME!!!
My day consists of the same, 'ol things:
Bedmaking, dishes, laundry, meal making, meal cleanup, playroom, squabbling kids, craft time, craft cleanup, baths, stories,bed.... wake up. repeat.
I have lost my creativity, my mojo, my gumption for summer fun. Staying indoors this long will do that to you.
We have played all our games, done all the crafts, played playdough for hours (well, it felt like hours!) and all by 10 AM.
And ofcourse the girls decided that this would be a great time to start waking up an hour earlier each day- you know, to make our days just-that-much longer.
Thanks girls!
Thank goodness for our playdates, and the trip to Philly to prepare for this week.
Even though we are going to Shriners, we are making a 24 hour stop at my moms house, so we can see our family-so in my mind, we are going on a "mini vacation."
Yup. We are driving 12 hours to have a 24 hour "vacation", then drive 3 more hours for a 4 hour appointment at Shriners, and then we get to hop in the car for a 15 hour drive home.
With a chatty 4 year old. And a potty training 2 year old.
And I am excited!
You know you are truly bored when 27 hours in the car with 2 toddlers sounds fun.
Sigh.
Is it September yet?
I feel for you. I'm ready for less heat and better air here in the North! I can't even imagine the South! I wish I could think of some thing interesting for you all to do but my mind is gone LOL!Oh how I wish it were September!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought you were being creative with the pool painting and whatnot. Hang in there. Praying for you.
ReplyDeleteI hope that it is not yet September. If so, I would be fully at work again and I just taught my last class. Ah, summer short, but still summer.
