Where are we in the "process"?
We are waiting for a sweet family to send us pictures of our baby girls. Lots of pictures.
The husband and his son are there RIGHT NOW adopting the cutest 8 year old you will ever see. On Sunday, the husband visited the orphanage and told his wife a few things about our girls which she graciously passed on via email.
The good news:
Celia is at a therapeutic facility that is helping her make "great strides" in her development. I am a bit sad that the twins are not together, but happy that she is making such progress. He said she is not spastic like children with severe CP are.
He held, rocked, sang to and carried Sofia all around the orphanage. His wife said he was smitten with her and that she will be a Daddy's Princess.
How precious is it that someone would take the time to snuggle my baby girl for me?
It brings me to tears.
The Sad News:
He couldn't get one smile.
Not one.
Could you please pray with me for Sofia? That God would prepare that little guarded heart to soften and let the love of her family in?
And lastly, in the Great Paperchase of 2010, here is where we are:
We have ALL our documents at our agency that are notarized, state certified and authenticated by the Chinese Consulates, with the exception of our USCIS approval and homestudy.
Our homestudy was sent to the USCIS today- YIPPEE!!! And it should be about 45 days until we are approved. It could be MUCH less time depending on who is reviewing the file, so we pray that it will come faster.
Once the approval arrives in the mail we have to run around like crazy getting certifications here in GA, then pay a courier in Houston to have it authenticated the same day at the Chinese Consulate and sent it to our agency.
That will officially be our "dossier" and it will head to China.
The time line after that is up for speculation:
About 2 weeks to be logged in to China's system
Anywhere from 1-3 months for Letter of Acceptance
USCIS Stuff for 1-2 months before Travel approval.
My guess is December travel, my hope is September travel. The Lord orders each step, so we trust HIS timing.
I need to see my baby girls smile. Maybe they are saving it for Mommy??

She is waiting for her fun big brother. -yo
ReplyDeletePraying all will move ahead very quickly and that soon God will place your daughters in your arms and smiles on their precious little faces.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, let me say your girls are PRECIOUS!!! I know how anxious you are to hold them in your arms!
ReplyDeleteI found you through a post on the RQ site and had to stop by...our timeline for travel is SO close!!! I sent in my I800A application to USCIS on 4/28 (one day after you!) and they received it on 4/30. Also like you, everything in my dossier has been Authenticated except the HS Report and USCIS approval! And once again, I am anticipating December travel but hoping for sooner! So much in common! :) Oh...and we also have to go through the Houston Consulate! Needless to say, I'll be following your story closely!
Blessings,
Tara Anderson
