Good News!

FINALLY!!!

Celia got some good news.
We NEEDED some right about now.
She has been granted a wish from the "Make a Wish" Foundation.

Now we have to decide for her what a special wish might be.
Initially, we thought that Disney would be a great option because the Give the Kids the World Village caters to special needs kiddos and their families, but we have a timeshare there and will go regularly. SO although it would be a different experience than one we could provide for her, I don't think it would make THAT MUCH of a difference to her either way.

We are now thinking she might enjoy a backyard play area that she can get around in her go-go in and be able to interact with her sisters. A deck-like area with play equipment that she could use, and a house that would be big enough for a wheelchair or her go-go to make it inside.

Hmmmmm......

We just have this HUGE responsibility of deciding for her, but it's HER WISH, so we want it to be exactly what she would want if she could tell us herself.

It's a daunting task, but we are up to the challenge.

For now, though, we are just thrilled that dreams will come true for our little princess.

  1. This is very exciting. Congratulations! One big advantage to a backyard area would be that she can use it every day, not just a one-time trip somewhere. Perhaps it might include an inflatable jumphouse to set up on occasion so she can have her giant pillow in miniature. Now that I think about it, have you every seen a Jump-o-lene, the yellow bowl model, which is the original model. It's great filled with plastic balls, too.

  3. I am just catching up on your last couple of post. You have such an amazing husband. I really like what he wrote about the twins. Even the "new normal" you are amazing mom and family, you know just what to do to make sure Celia gets just as much as her sisters and older brothers, the love shows in her face so much. Congrats on making a wish. I think a back yard play area is a great idea, to be able to play in it all the time, being a family thing. You are amazing.

  4. Rejoicing with you and celebrating this good news! How very exciting! Of course, her biggest dream/wish has already been granted. Unconditional love and care from her family, Christlike parents who sacrifice everything in their calling to be godly and biblical parents, happy loving sisters and brothers to romp and play with.....This dream has been amazing to her no dought. You are living out the gospel every day in Celia's life. Make a Wish Foundation can't TOUCH that! Just sayin'!!! I love the idea of a backyard play area to be enjoyed with her family, in her familiar surroundings, every day she desires! How amazing!!! Great idea!!!

  5. well I wrote this whole long thing about a Bigger deck w/roof,screened in to keep the bugs out and a tee-pee playhouse in the corner. wouldn't you know I managed to erase it!! Anyway I am drawing up some plans just in case you like the idea. Make a Wish does so much, I'm glad they chose Celia!!
