The love of a sister.

One of the things I LOVE about the girls, is that they really don't see Celia's limitations.
They just accept the fact that she can't do lots of things, but they never focus on that.
They see our smiley, happy spunky girl who LOVES to play.

More often than not, they fight over who gets to play with her.
I never expected that Sofia would be the odd man out.

On this day, I set Celia on the playroom floor with toys so I could put laundry away.
The girls quickly set up a "picnic" outside the playroom.
The brought her Boppy pillow so she could be propped up, and if you look closely, she is dressed in a sparkly scarf.
Aria brought all her favorite toys onto the picnic blanket and Gianna was the designated entertainer, while Aria read to her.
It blesses me to the core to see how much they love our little Celia.

And when I lay awake at night and worry about who will care for her when we are gone, it's times like this that comfort my heart, and make me realize that God has everything under control.

This was Gianna and Celia bright and early this morning.
I have never asked Gianna to do this, but when she sees Celia struggling to hold her head up, she gets up and stands behind her to support her shoulders while they are watching TV.
And she won't leave until stander therapy time is over.

Sister supporting sister instinctively without ever being told.

I'm so thankful that Celia has the love of her sisters.

For there is no friend like a sister,
In calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious way,
To fetch one if one goes astray,
To lift one if one totters down,
To strengthen whilst one stands.

  4. I have followed your family for months.....and this post literally made the tears flow and flow, with joy! We are getting ready to bring two more girls home from China and my husband and I will watch our kids some times in awe at the bond of sisterhood (and brother, we adopted Noah in June) that has been formed! It amazes me every single day and I feel so honored and blessed to witness! Your girls are so special and so blessed to have each other! I will of course continue to watch your family blossom! God Bless!

It's true, our girls are truly amazing! Not only have they bonded together, but they have their older brother in the palms of their hands. It is the sweetest thing to watch. Who says you can't have a close family with years or miles between? The Claxtons are proof positive that you can.
