A bad day.
I knew it was probably coming, but was hoping it wouldn't.
It came.... Today was an all over awful day. She had terrible tummy cramping, diarrhea, and was hooked back up to IV's and oxygen. The resident's solution wasn't really a solution that would help her.
The weekend Physician told us to get her up and out of bed, but that didn't happen all day. The nurse didn't want to remove her catheter until the Dr. removed her chest tube, etc, etc. They had to draw blood and stuck her 3 different times trying to find her vein. Adding to the removal of the chest tube and the catheter- Rough, rough day.
Then the evening nurse came on, he imediately put her back brace on, told me to keep her in it and grabbed a wheelchair to take her for a walk. She also needs a neck brace, because she can't hold her neck up right now, but therapy should help her regain her neck muscles soon.
She fell asleep on our little walk. I guess the halls of the hospital was just way too stimulating for her!!!
Hoping for a better day tomorrow. Thank you all again for the prayers. We covet them and are so touched at the love and care shown to our family through this!
I hate to hear this Cristy! I am sorry she had such a tough day! It is so hard watching our babies suffer like this. Hold tight though, this will be behind you in time. In the meantime, He will continue to hold you tight and show you His love in immeasurable ways.
ReplyDeleteWe are so sorry to hear Gianna had a bad day. We are praying for her daily and your family I know this has to be exhausting for all of you. Praying for a much better day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAAwww poor baby. She even looks totally fed up as she sleeps! I will pray for a better day today. Joe and Jesse prayed for her last night before bed and Joe asked if we could go to the hospital to see her! I wish we could.
ReplyDeleteHave a GOOD day today.
xx
Praying for you in China!! Love you all. What a sweet sweet girl
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet baby girl - if God would let me bear your pain I would happily do it. It brings tears to my eyes to hear that you aren't doing well. Sheridan prays for you each night. Stay strong, MaMa, and know that we are thinking about you. Hugs and Kisses.
ReplyDeletePoor baby; she looks completely worn out (and we know that her parents must be also!). So sorry she had a bad day, but we see that you knew it had to come (and surely The Lord knew all about it, too, and set the necessary precautions in place). There will probably be good days and bad days (two steps forward and 1 step backward for a while). We are praying that Sunday will be a great day.
ReplyDeleteWe love you!
Mom & Dad (sent from NC, in route back to VA).
So, so sorry to hear of Gianna's pain. I can't imagine what she must be going through. Praying for a better day today. Please kiss that sweet face for me.
ReplyDeletePoor little thing. It sounds like a rough day. I'll pray for today to be better.
ReplyDeleteI hate to hear of the trials, she has been through so much. I have so say the nurse in me says her color looks much better! Hang in there, God knows the plan and is in control and He will give all of you the strength and courage when you think you have no more!
ReplyDeletePraying for a better day for you all!!
