Unexpected Surprise!

Sunday night, the Doctor came to check on Gianna and told us she would probably be released on Thursday. He came to check on her Monday morning and decided maybe Tuesday.

Then there was a very quick change in plans, they sent us for xray and when we returned they had our discharge papers in hand, and sent us packing...

Whew. What they don't tell you is that you have to return your adrenaline at the door upon leaving.

After an uneventful ride to the hotel, and WE ARE ON OUR OWN WITH A VERY FRAGILE CHILD!!!
AHHHHH!!!!!!

So here we are, we made it through the first night, waking up every few hours for pain medications and doing fairly well.

Did I mention she is VERY FRAGILE? We are a bit scared. And relieved to be together as a family. And thankful to the Lord that she is doing well enough to be released. AND TERRIFIED we will do something wrong. And exhausted.

My dear, dear friend, who has walked this road as well, sent us dinner to the hotel last night. I don't know if eating would have ever crossed our minds if she hadn't. It was a wonderful treat.

So today we will attempt to give her a shower. Which I am TERRIFIED to do. She and I both feel safer when she is in her brace.

Tomorrow we have one final visit to see the Doctor and if she is doing well, the girls and I fly home on Thursday.

Thursday. Just ONE WEEK after major surgery and I will be flying home with her. What a blessing. We were originally told 15 days after surgery....

Thank you all so much for the faithful prayers on our behalf. We are humbled and overwhelmed at the love so many have showed us.

  2. We'll keep praying for all of you! It sounds like she must be doing very well, but it is a little scary not to have the medical experts around. You're an expert, too, though...an expert Mom and just what she needs!

  5. Incredible, no - impossible! Not really, "for with God nothing shall be impossible." What a testimony of God's unimaginable love and awesome power! We continue to pray for you every step of the way, giving thanks to Him for Gianna, Aria, their two big brothers and their loving, caring, sacrificing parents, and the many prayer warriors . We know it is a team effort (with King Jesus at the head).
    We love you,
    Mom & Dad
