Reality Check.
We have been very honest with Gianna about going to the hospital, and she will tell you she needs her back fixed at the "hostabul."
I figured this was my one-and-only time to get her excited about a surgery, so I showed her all the toys, blankets, jammies, etc that we have bought her for as I have packed them away in her closet. She smiles from ear to ear just talking about her Cinderella pillowcase AND blanket.(Thanks Aimee!) She quivers with excitement at the thought of her Curious George in a hospital gown. She begs to wear her new Princess jammies. She LOVES her new princess socks(Aimee again!!)
I thought we were doing quite well on the "Rah, Rah... Gooooo Hostabull" routine- that is, until last night:
She found me in her room packing the things in her closet, and she asked if she could come too. I told her I was packing for our trip to the hospital.
And then she said, "Mommy, I will cry and cry when they fix my back."
As tears welled up in my eyes, I thought," I know sweetie. I will cry and cry too."
thank you for sharing your stories with us. you are soo prayed for..We love you!
ReplyDeleteOh, her sincerity is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteSweet baby, my heart aches for her and the rest of your family. It's so not fun doing the hospital thing, I was only in there with Joe for a week but in that week I dont think I have ever cried more! GOd is in control but it is hard to tell your emotions and your heart that.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you all, for that peace that passes ALL understanding.
Love you

ReplyDeleteWhat a great mommy for thinking about all the "cool" things that she will have in the hospital. I know you are being the strongest you can be for your little one. Thanks for sharing some of the hurt with us too. I can't possible imagine. Praying for you and your baby girl.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to post for us all the hospital info....address and room #. We'll be praying!
