Adoption Day, Medicals and Shots, Oh My!
Today we were up and out early, which was easy because Aria and Gianna were up at 4 AM. I was pretty darn proud of myself for getting 4 girls and their hair and clothes done (with a LOT of help from Daddy of course) The twins are sounds sleepers- can I get an AMEN?!? The Lord truly answered that prayer. The slept through my shower and getting ready in the same room!
We fed Celia rice cereal before we went down for breakfast and she gobbled it up. Sofia is really on babyfood as well. She will "hold" food in her mouth for hours. I guess she hasn't learned chew... then swallow, so we are feeding them both baby food.
We headed over to the Civil Affairs Office and made it before the group of 45- YIPPEE!!! The twins really love to be in the carriers, so it all went very smoothly.
Then we went for their medical exam and shots. I asked for them to consider giving Celia a waiver, but they said she didn't meet the criteria so they both got 5 shots and a TB test. Sofia had just started smiling for us before her shots, and afterwards, she kept holding her arm up to me, like, "Why did you let them stab me?"
Celia's personality is coming out more and more. She has cooed, and laughs and smiles readily. She was in the stroller kicking me with her foot. When I would look at her she would smile from ear to ear and chuckle. What a darling!
They are both done with everything except applying for passports which is no big deal, and will take an hour or so tomorrow afternoon. We basically have nothing else to do until we go to the US Consulate next Tuesday. We told our guide we don't want to tour, we just want to do our own thing, as we want to bond with the twins, enjoy the area, and hopefully sleep.
Offically they are Cl @xton girls for ever!
How do you hold 4 girls betweenn 2 people? Pile 'em on!
Gianna was Mommy's twin buddy today. She is doing really well giving up the youngest child throne.
Entertaining Celia at the medical exam.

The first "twin" thing we've seen is that they like to touch heads when we hold them.
Can you guess which is which?

Sofia is NOT HAPPY that mean ol' US government made her get 5 shots before coming home. Smiley Celia is already over it, and back to her happy self.
We are free for the next 24 hours. My "amazing mom moment" for the day was feeding both twins lunch while Greg was making the big girls lunch. It doesn't sound like much, but I thought, "I got this, with a little organization, we will be fine!!"
Thank you all so much for the encouragaing comments and emails. We literally cried reading all of them this morning. We are so thankful for such dear friends and family!
So glad to hear everything is going well. Your girls are all so beautiful! Thanks for posting and letting us follow along on your journey - I'll be praying for safe travels for the rest of your trip.

Glad to know things are going smoothly. Yeah for sound sleepers. Just that can make so many other things bearable. You all look very happy and content. Sending prayers over the ocean for continued bonding and a peaceful trip.

O.K. I'll stick my neck out. I "think" Celia is on the right. The pictures are awesome, sometime children just know when the parents need some extra peace. It's a God thing. Our prayers will continue during the trip and after. I believe that parents always need extra prayer no matter how old we or our children get! Love & kisses
ReplyDeleteI want you to remember these phrases in the days ahead:
ReplyDeleteDone is better than perfect.
The best you can do is good enough.
Love is stronger than anything.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy the next few days with your girlies!
