Greg and Cristy's Asian Adventure!
Yesterday afternoon we went to the bank (the one who FINALLY agreed to give us the money we needed for the twins adoption) and when they saw our crew, they rolled out the red carpet.
Okay not really, but they gave us a beautiful book about China, and decided we were as close to celebrities as they would ever see, so they set up an impromtu photo shoot.
We went in to exchange $100 USD, and stayed for 30 minutes having our picture taking with the bank executives.
I am not making this up, I promise!!!
We decided to bump up the fun-o-meter by taking a taxi to an Italian restuarant that used to deliver to the hotels on Shamain Island, but no longer does.
Really excited about some familar food, we loaded up the crew in a tiny little taxi and sat in traffic with everyone else in Guangzhou. A 30 minute taxi ride, weaving in and out of traffic with twins in our lap and big girls kicking each other between us.
Fun, fun times.
We finally get to the "mall" the restaurant is in, and it is 4 stories of just furniture. Oh, and an Italian restaurant.
Which just happens to be CLOSED.
So, we grabbed the next available taxi, rode another 30 minutes home and ordered Papa John's pizza in our room.
Good times, people. Good times.
To avoid the mob-lynching for not adding pictures, let me say that the next post will be about our US Consulate appointment and will have lots of patriotic pictures :):)

Just remember - it is all about the journey. I'm not sure a 2 way 30 min taxi ride "really" counts as a journey though. Doing it all with a smile is what counts. How did the little ones like the pizza?
ReplyDeleteWe'll take the patriotic pictures as long as they have 4 adorable girls inside the cute outfits. OK? Glad to see things are going well. Hang in there. You are in the home stretch!
ReplyDeleteAre you counting the seconds until you get home? Funny post.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the Papa Johns was good!!?! Hope you guys have a good day at the consulate. And yes, can't wait to see your adorable crew in the pictures.
ReplyDeleteY'all are like Brad and Angelina! You may just find your pic's at the local newsstand... :)
ReplyDeleteLove the patriotic outfits...!
