Another low key day.

Today has been a hard day. We really are ready to come home. I haven't mentioned this on the blog, but Aria has developed another infection in a bug bite on her leg. We only have one type of antibiotic which may or may not be the correct one to treat it. We have had her on it for 3 days per our pediatrician and he said we wouldn't see improvement for 48 hours. In some areas it now looks improved, and in other areas it doesn't. It's frustrating and upsetting for sure. We know of a clinic here we can take her to, but since we don't know where they get their antibiotics, we are giving it a bit more time. Prayers are greatly appreciated!

Consequently, we have hung out in the hotel all day. We are trying to downsize our luggage and get ready to leave here and head to Hong Kong. We decided that because the healthcare is much better in HK, we are leaving Friday morning( we get the twins visas Thursday night) and will stay in HK until we leave on Sunday.

We even tried to get earlier flights out of here, but since we used miles, we have no options that don't cost us as much as each round trip ticket would have cost.

When we go out of the hotel, we are the local freak show.
I am not even kidding.
We have people laughing and pointing at us, people following us and taking our picture over and over (one lady took at least 10 pictures of us) and those who come up to us and ask us to pose with them. It has ceased to be fun- actually it never was fun, but I think we tolerated it better, and now we are tired of the fishbowl lifestyle.

So today we are beginning to pack and dump what we will leave, and tomorrow we have our swearing in ceremony at the US Consulate. On Wed, we will have another free day and on Thursday we will finsh all our packing so we can leave bright and early on Friday morning.

So since you have made it through my whiney post, I thought I'd leave you with at least a few pictures...

  3. I know you don't like to be the center of attention but that is what happens when you have FOUR ADORABLE CUTIES. Just face it, this will be your lot in life. I pray that Aria's infection is better by now. That was my one real worry for the trip. She is so sweet and the bugs love her - but it causes her so much discomfort. We also pray that the time passes quickly and you will be on your way home with your treasures! Love - G'ma

  6. I'm so sorry you're having a hard time now. I remember getting close to that point on our trip. My older daughter got sick in Zhengzhou during the crazy swine flu scare and I was so afraid the authorities were going to show up on our doorstep to take us away (thankfully, it was just heat exhaustion). The trip turned into an endurance test. Keep telling yourself only 3 sleeps to HK!! In just one week, you'll look back on this and laugh - after you get over the jet lag...

  8. This too shall pass... Take it easy one day at a time and try to enjoy the last few days you have in China. You will be home before you know it, and then probably missing China ;)

Look at those smiling babies!!! You are oh so blessed to have those little miracles finally in your arms. You will be home soon and then we will all still stop and stare at your amazing Supermom abilities (we just get to do it on your blog, so you don't see our mouths drop open)-LOL

    Keep up the good work!!
