Sweet Sofia.
Sofia is Aria's "mini-me." She found the best thing that happened to her, and she is NOT letting me out of her sight. Rest assured, I don't mind. In fact, I'm pretty flattered.
She has, however, fallen for her daddy and he is the next in line for "most favored person" status should Mommy need a shower. Which does happen from time to time.
She has not uttered a word, but she has done lots of belly laughs for Mommy. We do hear her talk in her sleep, so we know she can, she just doesn't want to.... yet.
Today, in a very courageous moment, she let me hold her hand while she walked around the playroom. She hasn't wanted to walk very much, because that might mean I am out of her sight for a second, and she is making sure that doesn't happen.
She is most happy when I am carrying her in the snugli, and I am happy to oblige. What she doesn't know is, her sister was the EXACT. SAME. WAY. and slowly but surely she began to trust that Mommy will always be there. I know Sofia's little heart needs time to trust.
We know she'll get there. One brave step at a time.

I'm so glad to see her smiling! :)
ReplyDeleteI see a recurring line here. The girls dancing, laughing, wrapping parents around their fingers. It is a good thing that ya'll finished out this school year early. It will take a while to get back to serious work. That is NOT A BAD THING. I think the girls, all four of them will do well to take a few months off just to get to know each other really well. I can't wait to get back so that they (Sofia & Celia) can get to know us too.
ReplyDeleteI know I can count on Aria and Gianna to help!
Greetings from Taiwan! Cristy, they are gorgeous. Oh, those smiles! You are one lucky momma! Best wishes and love coming your way!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see SMILING Sofia! I think it is amazing that God has really given you three sets of twins - not just one: Celia and Sofia, Aria and Sofia, Celia and Gianna. Your dream came true TIMES three! Praying for continued good health and quickly getting home.
