The Wedding.

She took her time. She wasn't in a rush.
She dropped just one petal at a time.
She smiled from ear to ear.
She melted hearts as she passed by.
Okay, so MAYBE, just maybe, I am a little biased.
But, I think she was THE CUTEST flower girl that ever was.
Seriously.

She did EXACTLY what we told her to do, even the SMILES!!!
Speaking of smiles, my sister was the HAPPIEST BRIDE I have ever seen. She wasn't stressed and she literally enjoyed herself the whole time. It was so much fun to share in her JOY.
The new Mr. and Mrs. H. She is just beaming and he is tearful. How precious are they?
The lovely wind instruments that serenaded us for two hours. It was magical.

The flower girl and her supportive sister. My sis knows they love to match outfits, and she wanted her wedding to be no exception, so she told me to dress them alike. She is thoughtful like that.

I think my sis danced and smiled throughout the whole evening.
She glowed!

My amazing eldest son and his love.
Aren't they a beautiful couple?

Aria couldn't resist a dance with her cousin. I call him Peach. No one else can get away with calling an 8 yr old "Peach" but I love it. Shhh, don't tell him I told you.
My wonderful second born son and his love. I am amazingly blessed with all these children.
We learned a little somethin' about Gianna at the wedding.
She LOVES. TO. DANCE.
She only cried when we made her come off the dance floor.

The crowd even parted to give them the floor.
And she was happy to take it.
 Ha!
Even us "old marrieds" got a chance to dance. The love of my life for 27 years and counting...
Sigh.
Old love is the best love of all.
You think young love is, until you have climbed mountains together, and sunk to the lowest of valleys, and then you know...
Me and my sister's mom.
(Quick version: Same dad, different moms.)
She is truly a remarkable woman.

My big kids. Their sweeties. I love them all.

Ready to face the FLOWER PETAL GAUNTLET!!!

K and JE,
Thank you for letting us share your joy in becoming man and wife.
I pray that your marriage will be rooted and grounded in FAITH.
Through the triumphs and trials that each year brings,
I pray that your love will grow deeper.
We love you both!!!

  1. The dancing makes me laugh. We attended a wedding on Saturday (Sheridan's babysitter has grown up and is now married). During the father/daughter dance, Sheridan went after the flower girl (and wasn't going to take no for an answer) to get her to dance. Same as with the girls, all of a sudden all eyes were on the two cuties dancing. We literally had to drag him from the dance floor after about 1.5 hours. Who knew we had Casanove and the Rockstar all in one package?

  2. What fun! I LOVE weddings! It looks like you guys all had a great time!

(My favorite picture is the second one where Gianna is walking down the isle. You wrote that "she melted hearts." It cracked me up because the little girl with the pink cape is staring at here like she wants to attack her. No ice melting there! I'm sure it just looks like that-- she's probably a sweetie. It just made me laugh!)

  3. Wow you DO have a beautiful wonderful family! I can't wait to finally see ALL your kiddos together at last. Now hurry up and get those babies home :)

Oh and I sure hope you don't plan on going missing on the blog (like you did last week) when you are in CHina?!?!? I will hound you via email if I can't "see" you the whole time in China ;) Have a fantastic trip!!

  4. Thank you for sharing the wedding. It looked like a typical "beautiful beautiful fall day in Virginia". I have to admit that my favorite pics were of my "grands" stealing the show. The boys and their sweeties are pictures I will always treasure. Was Gianna practicing for a future event(s)? Katy was a beautiful bride, thank her for allowing you to share!
