Our Celia.

Just 5 days ago, a very fragile little baby girl was handed to her daddy.
She was weak from being bottle fed for her entire life.
She was frightened.
She had no idea what was happening to her.
Though she can't hold her head up, though she can't always make her body work the way she wants it to, she is our brave little fighter. She wills herself to keep trying.
She finds joy in simply being back with her sister once again.
She doesn't mind that she can't run and jump and play. Most of the time, she is content just to be a part of the action.
And when her arms do what she wills them to do, she lights up with excitement.
And when they do not, she doesn't despair, she just uses her feet to play instead.
What would appear to be insurmountable due to her limitations, only makes her more determined to achieve what others would say is impossible.
And we are the ones privileged enough to be the ones cheering her on as she conquers each obstacle.

My mom wrote this to me in an email about our Celia:

"Celia is your angel. She is happy and smiling and will affect many people, I know. We all just take things for granted and here she is a fighter and spunky and a love! Celia reminds me of Gianna. Both have alot of spunk and seem to take things in stride while others would be complaining or protesting. Maybe we are looking at things wrongly, maybe we are the ones who have special needs - and God has to send us these angel babies to teach us some life lessons we would otherwise never learn."

I couldn't have said it any better myself, Mom.
Thank you Lord for sending us sweet Celia to learn those life lessons.
We couldn't be any prouder of her.

  2. I agree with your mom. Celia and Gianna both have that infectious smile that just lights up a room. That spunk and agreeable nature will help them surmount the most difficult obstacles without slipping and giving up. Enjoy your weekend.

  3. Cristy, your Mom is indeed a wise woman. It is us who have a strange view of the world.
The only good thing about being away from my computer for a day, is coming home and finding four new blogs. I just keep reviewing all of them and wondering how I ever became to be so very blessed to have you all in our family. HE IS SO GOOD. I marvel every day at the wonderful ways He finds to bless us on a daily basis. Thank you again for creating this wonderful blog and for taking the time and energy to keep all of us posted on what is happening while you are so far away. Love always.
