Frequently asked questions and other stuff

~Thank you for praying for Aria. We ended up taking her to not one, but two clinics to try to get her Bactrim. Neither had it, so the second clinic put her on Ceclor (which does not help with MRSA) but she is MUCH BETTER!!! It is almost gone now, and we are truly grateful.

~The twins sleep 11.5 hours a night, pretty much straight through and nap for 2 hours. Celia is restless and wakes up several times a night, but she doesn't cry and puts herself right back to sleep.

~Sofia is size 18 months and Celia is 12 months, but I brought 18 and 24 months and we are making due.

~Sofia is with an "F" not "PH". We used the original Italian spelling for our Chinese girl. HA! And we won't call her Sofie.

~Celia is chewing and eating now. We still give her babyfood until we get home with more options, but she ate eggs last night, she eats cheerios, and even fetticini alfredo. She is liking her bottle less and less.

~Gianna is LOVING her big sister role. She has not been jealous and  loves to play with the twins.

~Honestly, it is easier than we thought it would be. The twns are really portable, and very content to ride in the carriers, so we have had no problem going out and about.

~I know once Daddy is back at work and I lose my other half it will be an adjustment, but they are like a 6 month old and a 12 month old, so they stay where you set them. I will use this to my advantage. :)

~Being in Guangzhou the whole time is a bit like groundhog day. All the shops sell the same junk, so if you've seen one, you've seen them all. We missed the diversity of seeing other parts of China.

~I'm GLAD we brought a whole suitcase of food and snacks. It made lunch in the room a family event, the girls had their comfort foods, and we didn't spend $$ on food we didn't want/like for both lunch and dinner.

~Sofia has still not said a word... until last night that is. She said "Dada", "Mama," "Thank you" and "Bye-bye." in her crib while I was reading in bed. She is very shy, and will sign to us the signs I have taught her (please, thank you, more, thirsty.) but was practicing in the dark last night saying the words over and over. It was precious!

~They both know their names and responded to them after about 36 hours of saying it with their chinese names. We then dropped the chinese part.

~ Celia is really that happy. She is the happiest baby I have met. As my son said, "She has a smile that would start world peace." Each thing is an exciting adventure. She loves her bath too. She also is saying, "HI". It is amazing the transformation in her.

~ And lastly this is our LAST DAY in Guangzhou. We will be taking red couch pictures (more on that lil' tradition later)We are taking the train to Hong Kong in the morning. We are excited have only THREE SLEEPS until we are home!!!

Love to all, we really miss everyone!!!

  2. Bactrim, Ceclor and Divine. Guess which one did the healing? So glad you are feeling better, Aria. And what a blessing to hear Sofia's first words (and they were in English!). Good job, Teaching Team, and congratulations to Sofia on her graduation to real food. I think she is going to take after her Grandpa who also loves to eat!
Enjoy your train trip to HK. We love you!
