A day in the life.
Of an adoptive parent in Guangzhou:
Wake up to babies crying at 6AM.
Crying wakes sisters in the next room.
Diaper changes, bottle feedings, oatmeal for big sisters and...
Pile all kids on Mom and Dad's bed for playtime and morning snuggles.
Marvel at the blessings that God has so freely bestowed on you, and wonder how you could be so blessed.
Get everyone dressed. Brush hair, teeth and get babies saddled up in their carriers and head outside for a morning walk.
Dance like a fairy without a care in the world.
Take a quick break to do the tourist thing.
Enjoy the beauty of your homeland. While being a fairy of course.
Admire the beautiful banyon trees.
Wonder if you have enough kids.
Haha, jussstttt kidding!
Capture a twin moment.
Stop at Starbucks where an un-named 4 yr old promptly spills her drink. Wipe up vanilla milk off your pants, her pants and mop up the tears as well.
Sit down at last to enjoy the beautiful weather and take one sip your coffee, when you hear....
" I HAVE TO GO POTTY!!!!"
Pack everyone up, grab coffee and walk back to the hotel room with someone doing the "potty dance" the whole way.
Exhausted, glance at your watch in the elevator and realize it is only 10 AM..
To be continued.....
Hugs, hugs and more hugs.
ReplyDeleteAnd some wet wipes for the drink spills.
Cristy,
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Savor each moment, because they only do the potty dance and spill milk for so long. Precious little moments like these are sweet gifts for you to unwrap and gone before you know it (My girls don't do the potty dance anymore)! Love you and (all) your girls <3
Awww heck, I am 42 and still do the potty dance. I (actually my daughters and I) are enjoying reading your daily posts...great job capturing a beautiful family life. Everything sounds hectic (I was tired after reading your post) and loving. It sounds like you are enjoying every moment. You have a beautiful family. P.S. Followed you over from RQ but know how much we loved getting blog comments to read each morning!
ReplyDeleteWhat can be better than seeing our girls, happy and enjoying the simple things of life. I miss them SO MUCH! If the next 3 months don't go quickly, I'm going to get VERY cranky! Love you all.
